DAX CAME INTO THE WORLD A FIGHTER.
He was born with a critical congenital heart defect called Tetrology of Fallot. The rare condition includes four defects: a hole in the heart, narrowing of the pulmonary valve, an overriding aorta and thickening of the right ventricle.
Additional complications days after birth challenged him even more... an infection around his heart, seizures and he required assistance breathing through a ventilator. It was an incredibly difficult start to life. At just 11 days old , Dax underwent open heart surgery. His medical team performed a miracle on his tiny heart, fully repairing all four defects.
Dax may need additional surgeries, but with your help, he can live a normal, active childhood and have a real chance at long, happy, healthy life.
