Please help me raise money for the American Heart Association's GO RED FOR WOMEN.
Supporting the fight against heart disease and stroke is personally important to me. My dad (pictured here with me) is one of millions of Americans living with AFib--an irregular or quivering heartbeat. AFib puts the individual at a higher risk for blood clots, heart failure, and stroke. Unfortunately for Dad, he was one of the unlucky ones. Since 2007 he has undergone heart surgery and suffered three major strokes. It is because of him that I am raising money for GO RED FOR WOMEN.
Your donations help support research on heart disease and education on heart health. For every $1 raised, For every $1 raised in Madison, nearly $3 comes back to fund life-saving research at local academic institutions.
Your gift also helps support local initiatives:
Telephone CPR — Right now, if you call 9-1-1 to help a cardiac arrest victim, you might not be able to get CPR instructions over the phone from your 9-1-1 dispatcher. It all depends on where you are calling from in Wisconsin. We’re working to change that by advocating at the state Capitol to ensure all 9-1-1 dispatchers in Wisconsin can give this life-saving coaching over the phone.
Healthy Food Access — our goal is to increase access to healthy, affordable foods in underserved communities. Initially our efforts will focus in Madison and Milwaukee.
CPR in Schools — we are collaborating with stakeholders across the state to implement CPR in Schools. All Wisconsin high school students will be able to learn CPR before they graduate with these kits, thanks in part to your generosity.
Please make your donation today to support this worthy cause. Your gift will make a huge difference. It could help save the life of someone you love!
Thank you for your generous gift!
