If you're here, it means you know Mallory. You're at least aware of some of the trials and tribulations that she's faced since birth. You probably know she had her first open heart surgery at nine days old and then another at five months. You know she had six different defects with her heart alone. You've probably heard me say or read on a facebook update about how miraculous her heart care was from the good people at the American Family Children's Hospital. From her head nurse, the amazing Polly Galbraith, to her fantastic cardiologist, Dr. Amy Peterson, and her incomparable surgeon, Dr. Petros Anagnostopoulos. Mallory had scores of people looking after her and attending to her care.
These professionals were equipped with knowledge, equipment and best practices that are all possible because of the good work that the folks at the AHA perform. We are forever indebted to them for having Mallory with us today and in such good health. The AHA continues to fund research to aid in the heart health of everyone from a newborn to the elderly and everyone in between.
The Heart Ball is an annual event where we concentrate our efforts at raising funds for this work to continue so that more families like ours, may benefit from advancements in technology and knowledge in this field.
Please join us in the fundraising effort for the Madison Heart Ball. If you don't, you'll make a puppy cry.
