Please help me raise money for the Madison Heart Ball.
On July 1, 2010 Haley Ann Jirsa was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. This defect if untreated can be fatal; fortunately for us our doctors discovered this defect at my 20 week ultrasound during pregnancy. After Birth, Haley underwent 2 open heart surgeries at 13 and 14 days old. Both surgeries were successful and repaired the major defects to her heart, and after a total of 26 days in the Hospital Haley was able to come home. Haley continues to have annual visits with the pediatric cardiologist and will need to have one more surgery to completely correct her defect. The timing of that surgery is yet to be decided and she will continued to be monitored annually until then.
Today, 5.5 years later Haley is an average Kindergartener running and playing with her friends, her sister and her brother. She is growing and learning more and more each day, however she knows that her journey to health isn’t over. She still has hurdles to jump and mountains to climb but she faces them head on and we are hopeful she will overcome whatever comes her way.
